Summit County Engineer Annual Bridge Building Contest

Every year the Summit County Engineer hosts a miniature bridge building contest with several high schools within Summit County.  This contest is an opportunity for students to show their creativity, craftsmanship, and design skills in a friendly competition.  Students work together prior to the contest to create a design and build a prototype.  While at the contest, they are given 3 hours to construct their bridges from scratch prior to testing.  The winners are awarded a cash prize, and all contestants become eligible for a scholarship to pursue a career in engineering at the University of Akron.  The engineer's office does a wonderful job each year making this a meaningful and entertaining experience for the students.  For more information about the contest click here to be directed to the summit county engineers website.
